To be honest the Epic 4G is not the sexiest of the Galaxy S series from Samsung but still the durability in hand is awesome. The rounded corners give the phone a comfortable look and the shiny black surface adds little value to the feel of the phone.

Samsung Epic 4G has a 4 inch AMOLED display accelerometer display phone which occupies the most of the space in the phone. There are set of keys present just below the display like all other touchscreen phones. The buttons are home, menu and back.

Samsung Epic 4G has a virtual and physical QWERTY keyboard with good response from both. The physical keyboard is present below the main top panel with 5 rows of keys. There is a camera present in the back side of the phone with a LED flash. Epic 4G is the only Galaxy S phone with a Flash. The Screen power off key is present on the right spine along with the camera button. The microSD card slot is present behind the batter cover.

Samsung Epic 4G is powered by a 1GHz Hummingbird Cortex A8 processor with Android 2.1 running happily on the device. It is expected that the Epic 4G will get Froyo officially soon but the time frame is unknown. There is a big 4 inch AMOLED display with TouchWiz 3.0 interface and accelerometer for quick response. This CDMA phone supports both the 3G and 4G as well. Epic 4G can be used as a Wi-Fi hot spot for up to 5 devices but of course you need to pay the respective charges applied. The phone comes with an internal memory of 1GB which is expandable up to 16GB using the microSD card slot.

Epic 4G has all the features like other smartphones which include messaging, speakerphone, visual voice mail, conference calling and GPS. The connectivity is taken care by Bluetooth, USB and Wi-Fi. Epic 4G has access to Samsung’s Hub feature which will help in synchronizing of your various social networking contacts but it must be done manually.

There is a 5 megapixels camera present at the back of the phone which can even record HD videos and a front facing VGA camera for video calls.

Samsung Epic 4G Review:

The 1GHz Hummingbird Cortex A8 processor played a vital role in launching applications and also helped in accessing to the internet. The 4G is just awesome as the high connectivity speed helps accessing the internet. The YouTube videos loading speed is also really quick than the normal 3G network. Epic 4G also had very good call quality as most of the users have never said anything against it. There were no witnesses complaining even about the background noise.

The camera quality is also impressive as the images were clear like a digital camera shot images. The LED helped in getting the images clear during the night time. The Samsung’ TouchWiz 3.0 interface is impressive as the response for the tapping is instant. Epic 4G has number of widgets which can be used to customize the home screen of the mobile.

The battery is awesome as well as the talktime is around 8 hours while the stand by time is 21 days.

The Good:

Samsung Epic 4G is impressive with the call quality, image quality and the Data Connectivity.

The Bad:

Samsung Epic 4G is little bulky in size and the price is little high when compared to other Galaxy S phones.

Design:

The main thing which catches the eyes is the big 3.1 inch touchscreen display with the accelerometer feature enabled across the screen. The Touchwiz 2.0 interface also helps you a lot in easy navigation with transition effects. There is no keypad like ordinary phones but the virtual keypad present on the screen helps in easy calling.

Like all other touchscreen phones there are two buttons for call answer and hang up. These two are present on the left and right side below the display. There is a big hexagonal button present at the center just below the display which takes the user to the main menu and to the task manager as well. Locking key is present at the left spine while the volume adjuster is present on the right spine.

Samsung Jet Top

The camera is present at the back panel with a LED display. A 3.5 mm headset jack and the USB port are present at the top of the phone. Samsung Jet also has the microSD card slot behind the battery cover like all other touch phones.

Features:

A big 3.1 inch touchscreen is present in this 4.28 inches mobile phone. The phone is powered by the 800 MHz processor which helps in the smooth running of the phone. The connectivity is taken care by Wi-Fi, EDGE, Bluetooth and an USB Port. The other features in the phone are a world clock, alarm clock, a timer, a calculator and a stopwatch.

The Samsung Jet comes with a 5 mega pixel 4x digital zoom camera with LED flash at the back side of the phone. The phone comes with an internal memory of 2GB which is expandable up to 16GB. The battery is quite impressive with 8 hours of talk time and 17 days of standby time.

Review:

The Samsung Jet is quite impressive with its overall performance with small disadvantages as usually mobiles have. The phone is pretty fast due to the 800 Mhz processor present inside the phone. The image quality is quite impressive and the pictures were clear without any marks. The photos taken during the night time was also good with the help of the flash light. The music player present inside is not that much good but can be acceptable. The external sound is good in the speakers although it had few disturbances at full volume. The call quality is excellent when compared to other Samsung phones but still few hindrances were witnessed at noisy surroundings. Samsung Jet had no evidences of call drop.

The main disadvantage is the non-presence of instant messaging and voice dialing. Even small budget phones have these features these days and we are not sure why Samsung has left out this option.

The Good:

The overall performance is satisfactory just like the touch interface.

The Bad:

The Bad is the lack of instant messaging and voice dialing.

Nokia 5310

Design:

The first feel you will get about the phone is its slimness and it helps you to hold the phone with good grip. It has a thickness of 9.9 mm which means it is the thinnest phone available in the market. The phone has bright colors (either red or blue) on its sides which make it more attractive. The best part about the phone is the presence of USB ports, charging port and a 3.5mm head jack separately. These days it is hard to find even smartphones with different slots as they use same connectors for charging and USB. There is a 2 Mega pixels camera present at the back side of the phone without any LED flash light. The left top bar has the music player buttons while the two small speakers at the back side. It is a wonder that they have given three buttons at the left top side. The right panel has the volume adjuster button. One main disadvantage is the presence of MicroSD slot behind the battery which means you have to remove the battery every time you want to insert the card. It is a standard form phone with normal buttons design.

There is a 2-inch QVGA TFT display screen which comprises of a 16 million color support. There is a 2 mega pixel camera present which can take handful of photos. Nokia 5310 Xpressmusic is basically a music phone so there must be support for hard disk space which has been taken care by Nokia as well. There is a MicroSD card slot which is expandable up to 4GB, the phone comes with a 512MB card. The connectivity is also taken care by providing the A2DP Bluetooth stereo feature which helps in connecting to the wireless speakers. The phone uses the Symbian series 40 3rd edition interface.

Review:

As a music phone the battery lifetime must be good as there will be long instances of operation. The phone has reasonably decent backup of 12 days and talktime hours of around 6. This is pretty decent talktime hours but there were instances in which the phone got auto restarted when hearing the music. It was highly noted when the music was played keeping the games on. The audio card kept inside the phone helps in maximizing the music experience and it is better than other Nokia phones. The images quality is not that bad as other Nokia 2 MP phones, it was way good and crisp.

The Good:

Slim design, A2DP Bluetooth stereo, 3.5MM audio jack and price

The Bad:

Occasional call drop instances and not a very good battery life.

Design:

When you see the mobile from without taking it in hand you will feel that you are in front of a costly phone but that will turn into a myth when you hold it. The costly phone will start showing the reality in minutes. The biggest drawback of the phone is plastic, wondering why? Samsung has made the outer cover of the phone using plastic which makes the phone of poor family (in Mobile phone families). When you touch the menus you will get more disappointed because it is also made of plastic. Sometimes reality is way beyond what we see and it is proved by Samsung c3050. It is plastic!! Plastic!!

Samsung c3050 is a slider phone which counts as one of the best features. The slider is not as bad as other cheap phones have. The phone has a central big key to navigate to the menu just under the screen. There are two sets of keys present on the phone, upper set is used to navigate to the menus kept right above it on the screen and the next two sets present below are used for call answer and hang up purposes respectively. Volume changer is present on the left side while the speaker and the charging pin on the right side. Keypad is present below the slider. A camera is present on the back side of the phone.

The phone has an internal memory of 20MB which can be expanded using a memory card slot. The multimedia features like FM Radio, MP3, ACC, WMA, and WAV Support are also provided as well.

A 0.3 megapixels camera is present without flash light. The phone has a battery backup of 8 hours with 14 days stand by time.

Battery

Review:

The most annoying thing is the plastic. It is Plastic everywhere which is bit annoying to hold and use. The camera clarity is not that much good as it is expected from a 0.3 MP camera. The pictures even taken in the day time shows grains and patches. The call quality is really poor when compared to the other models in the market. Sometimes it is hard to hear what the other party says. The biggest advantage is the presence of the battery life. It is just awesome as it even went above 10 hours sometimes. However it is subjected to change depending on the usage. FM radio is not that much bad as it gave a decent amount of sound output.

The Good:

Samsung c3050 is a cheap slider mobile phone with good battery backup.

The Bad:

Samsung c3050 has a very poor call quality and camera.

Design:

Sony Ericsson W580i is one of the slider phones which have been given a strong slider mechanism. It is not easy to lift it in one hand as the slider was little tough to do so. The phone looks bright and sleek in all the colors it is available as the upper coating is designed with care. This 3.3 ounces 3.9 inches phone has good set of navigation controls present below the screen.

The central big button present below the Sony logo is provided for Media control with four navigational buttons. A back and cancel buttons are given just below the call answer and call end buttons respectively. A dedicated walkman button is given which has a shortcut menu button right opposite to it. The keypad rests below the top slider and blinks when the slider is up. Power button and the memory card slot are present at the top of the phone. Features:

Sony Ericsson W580i has been provided with 12MB of internal memory. The phone features a 2 mega pixel camera but do not have a flash light. The phone features a strip of light which blinks when an incoming call arrives. The phone features a 1000 capacity contact book and other than this W580i has other features like alarm, FM radio, calendar, and timer. Sony has given various applications as well along with the features such as trivia game, fitness trainer and much more. Connectivity is taken care by Bluetooth and the USB.

Review:

W580i attracts its consumers with two main features, one is the shake control and the other is the Strip of light. Music in W580i is just like the other walkman phones and nothing great except the shake control. Shaky control is nothing but which helps you to switch to the next song with a single flip of your ankle. Just wipe your hand holding the dedicated walkman button and you will be navigated to the next song, as simple as that!! Sounds good isn’t t?

The next best feature is the lights present on the sides. It just glows awesome when you receive any call but it may be annoying to few as well. It all depends on the eyes. W580i has 9 hours of talk time and 2 weeks standby time. Call quality is not bad and there is not much evidences of call drop issue as well.

The Good:

Nice and sleek design with strong slider. Shaky control can be an advantage for music lovers.

The Bad:

Battery life is not that much good though it has 9 hours of talk time. Controls were also hard to use.

Well, it is Big. This is the first impression you will get when you see the phone as the big 4 inch touchscreen attracts you easily. Of course 4-inch is quite big when compared to the other smartphones available in the market. If you are looking for a big screen phone with Android OS then Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is the Phone for you.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

Xperia X10 is 4.7 inches long and 2.5 inches wide with a weight of 4.8 ounces which is not a big deal to carry. X10 has its Home, back and menu buttons just below the big 4-inc touchscreen. These are the only available physical buttons in this phone.

Volume controller is present at the left pane while the power button, 3.5mm headset jack and USB port at the top of the phone. Sony has kept the memory card slot behind the battery cover.

Side Panel

Features:

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Android phone is powered by the Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon 1 GHz CPU processor which is well supported by the 384 MB RAM. The phone comes with Android 1.6 OS but as usual you can install Android 2.0 or Froyo unofficially. The Phone supports Quad-band GSM and tri-band 3G.

Sony has provided X10 with an 8 megapixel auto focus camera with a capture rate at @ 30fps. There is a LED Flash light which helps in taking snaps at night. The camera comes with smile detection, geotagging and image stabilization. X10 comes with an in-built GPS with A-GPS.

Connectivity is taken care by Bluetooth v2.1, USB and Wi-Fi. Other than these the phone has a 3.5 mm audio jack, proximity sensor, Virtual keyboard, UXP interface, Timescape and Accelerometer. X10 comes with a 1GB Micro SD card for storage bundled with an 8GB card.

Review:

Sony has given the phone a good Virtual keyboard which is different from other Android phones in the market. You have lot of room for typing as the alphabets and numbers are separated in the screen. The most important feature is the automated dictionary which shows 20 words suggestions when you key in something i.e. if you start typing “wh” then the screen will be filled with 20 words suggestions like “where” “ who” “which” “whack” etc. Of course it is quite hard to match up with the HTC sense UI.

X10 also features a new interface called as UXP (User Experience Platform) which has various attractive elements. The basic feature of the UXP is to combine the alerts, messages, and contacts into a stream of communication called Timescape. UXP is implemented for the first time in X10. UXP is main advantage is the Timescape feature but also it is the main disadvantage as well as Timescape failed to behave as expected.

Timescape feature will display your latest mails and messages from your mail accounts, MySpace, Facebook and Twitter. It will also display the social media happenings in the home page in the form of a deck of cards. Just tap on the card to see the full profile with the photo. Timescape is not working properly as it fails to fetches the information at times and the performance is spotty as well.

Pros:

Xpera X10 has a user friendly design with a good call quality. The big 4-inc touchscreen helps in displaying the graphics and the images in good quality.

Cons:

Timescape application has defects. The loudspeaker audio quality is bad and not like other Sony phones. There is no FM radio and Flash support for the browser is also missing.

Design:

This is one of the major features of any phone and it has to be at its best to attract people. In simple words the design must be sleek and sexy as well. We guess HTC has given the feel to the Touch Diamond phone.
We guess the Touch Diamond in Image is not same as it looks in real. Yes, in real it is awesome. You can even comb your hair when you see the back panel of the phone. The prism effect at the back is awesome which will make you to see it for the whole day. When it comes to design, the size of the phone also matters. HTC Touch fits into your pocket as simple as that. No need to carry any extra pouches. Hmm well, it is true as it is less than 4 inches tall and 2 inches wide.

The next thing which attracts is the big touch screen with the TouchFLO 3D interface. TouchFLO makes your touch really easy this time. Just touch and play in the screen. The home screen has a big clock along with other applications listed. When you move below that display there are some controls which help in operation. A home key is present along with a back button, end keys, directional keypad and a talk button. The Navigational keys help you to navigate easily.

You can find the power button present at the top with the camera glittering at the back. Pull out your stylus from its slot present at the bottom of the phone. Volume adjustment is given on the left of the phone.

So features are what we all expect after design. Hmm well, we would say HTC Touch Diamond is decent when considered its features. HTC Touch comes with the Windows Mobile 6.1 professional edition along with the Microsoft Direct Push technology which helps you to get e-mails delivered from their exchange server.
The HTC Touch Diamond has been provided with an internal memory of 4GB and with 192MB DDR SDRAM. Read Only Access memory present is 256MB.

The phone is provided with a 3.2 MP camera with 4X Zoom options. The picture quality of the phone is good even in the Zoom mode. Connectivity is taken care by the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 Present.

The two main feature of the HTC touch Diamond is the presence of Opera 9.5 and Adobe Flash Lite 2. HTC has given Opera 9.5 web browser along with the traditional IE. Adobe Flash Lite 2 helps you in playing all the FLV format videos.

Other than these some of the features of this phone include GPS, Text and Multimedia messaging, Speakerphone, Voice dialing and much more.
