Filezilla is free, powerful open source and cross- platform FTP client. Filezilla sister product is called as Filezilla server. Filezilla works well in window, Linux and Mac OS. Best thing about Filezilla which is not found in other FTP client software is this is updated often i.e. even you can say it is updated every month. Latest version available in the market is Filezilla 3.2.0. This version is not only used by an individual it is also used by enterprises. This version has several enhancements and enrichments when compared to earlier versions. Site manager is a main feature about Filezilla which allows the users to list FTP sites along with port number, protocol etc. i.e. with connection data. Message log shows the message at the top of the window and it shows information about commands sent and server’s responses. Transfer Queue shows the real time status of file transfer. File and folder view helps the users to navigate and it provides a graphical interface.

It is easy to use when compared and drag & drop option makes it more users friendly. Transfer speed can be controlled according to an end user’s wish and file name filter option is there which helps in filtering files according to user’s choice. In Filezilla 3.2.0 Network configuration wizard is enhanced with latest features which help you in controlling all the networks. Suite manager is added with additional components which also makes this Filezilla 3.2.0 an exciting one for use. Queue is also configured and a minor change made is it updates an item in Queue after rename file action. Bookmarks are the new feature added in this version. You can mark your own favorite item as bookmark and save. Vista compatibility is also a new feature. Users can use Filezilla in vista which was not possible in previous versions. Raw FTP commands are enhanced.
In SFTP connections proxy password was visible in previous versions and it is not possible in this version. Proper display in BYTES is done in this version. Gnome’s session manager is enriched that it shuts down Filezilla on end of session. Thousand separators are used in file exists dialog in Filezilla 3.2.0. You cannot perform any odd behavior in site manager like deleting items, this version fixes those correctly. Directory listings are done by timestamp and permission order. Timeouts fixing is also made accurate in Filezilla 3.2.0. UNC paths can be browsed locally in client machine itself. As other FTP clients Filezilla has optional setting called as “passive”, this is required when your computer is behind router or firewall.
