7 Tips to Write your Most Popular Post

A single long post can get you very good traffic while compared with the other normal posts on your Blog/site. To be your surprise some good long killer posts can get you to the first post of digg without doing any special work for it, unfortunately there is no blueprint for this. It is really hard when it comes to decide the topic for your popular post and act up on it, so here I am with some simple tips to make your most popular post.

Here are some posts which can help you along with these tips,

Tips to Write Popular Post

Use your best Idea:

Now you are ready to make a post but on what? Well, I would suggest you to research around the internet and frame a title of your own. You can also make titles of others but it is not advised because it will become a replica again. I would suggest you to research even for 15 days and make a very good long post on the floor. A big popular post for a month can bring you traffic equal to the other posts posted round the month.

Give a Complete Product:

This is the second point you must have in your mind while making your popular post. Once you decide the idea for your post, make sure that the post is full. I have seen many killer posts with not full information as they will be hanging in the middle without a proper finish. So make sure that you full fill all the needs of the readers by making the product complete.

Spend Maximum Time:

Do not be urging when you are making your most popular post as time is more important than talent. I would even say taking half of the day to make the post is no bad at all. This investment can get you a complete product at the end.

Headlines matters:

Headlines really matters on all your posts normally so why not in your popular posts then? I am sure many of you would be reading this article after seeing the headline of the post. I have seen only very few who master the art of making headlines but still there are many who can make a decent one. So spend good time and brain to make your headline for the post. The headlines help a lot in social bookmarking sites as they are those which is shown to the users, so it gives you success if made properly.

Format your post:

There are many tools/plug-ins available these days which are available now to format your post. So make use of all them and present a beautiful looking post to your readers. I would suggest you to highlight the important points, give examples, add bulleted points, link examples for your points and much more to make it look good. The food must be served good and not matter how taste it is.

Add Multimedia Flavor:

I would strongly suggest you to spend time to add images/videos wherever is needed. I am sure most of the readers would like to see something visual rather than reading the whole post completely. I am sure these images/videos can help you to convert few impatient readers to patient full readers.

Make Use of the First Paragraph:

Now you are done with your popular post but the most important thing is to make all your visitors to read your post completely. There are lots many who will not have patience to read the post completely as they will skip the post easily. So I would strongly suggest you to add few lines in the first paragraph which must say what is given in the post. For example, “I am going to speak about this”, “You will get to know” and much more like this.

Hey nice article Praveen, You have rightly mentioned that you need to give your 100% and lot of time and effort to get the best article out of you.

  4. Hi Praveen, this is really a good idea to get search engine attention. But for me things are working in a different way. Most of my short articles which are mostly tutorials rank top in search engine results pages and they are bringing me more traffic than a long post with killer contents.

      Hi Sathish,

You must note the competition for the short articles as killer articles must be a topic written by most of the other blogs so obviously tough competition. Analyze the Authority of the other sites which ranks with you

  5. You can get inspiration for a very good post out of almost anything. An experience in your work place, a blog post or article you read, something you see on the news, a live event, anything literally.
Once you find a good writing method, stick to it. I personally write down quick ideas on Evernote and keep them there in a special “Blog (to do)” category.

Then, when I feel like it’s time to get back to that, I read the ideas and I jot down a mind map on my Moleskine notebook, to have an idea of what the post will be about.

Later on, possibly even days after, I get back to my mind map and finally write my post, most likely on MacJournal, as its full screen mode allows me to write without any distraction at all.

I usually get back at the post the following day, or 2 days alter, to edit it (it’s important, no, vital to edit it with a cold mind, to get a new view on it) and get it, finally, ready for “production”.
