7 Ways To Promote Your Business via LinkedIn

LinkedIn, I have found that this social networking website to be used as a very powerful professional tool for promoting business, your professional networks, business products, cause and issues. This is one of the best online portals to recruit people and find clients and customers for your Small business. So I thought of writing few simple ways which you must follow to promote business via LinkedIn. Tighten your seat belts to go high, some of the best ways to promote your key business via LinkedIn are:

1. Make A More Personal Connection:

Offering a mere network connection to your colleagues and social networks is not enough to promote your business. This will be good to find more people whom you are not aware but are in your professional circle to get to know them and let them know you. This is how you are going to build your business online very strongly and is one of the most popular ways to promote your business online. You will also be able to keep all your customers updated at one go using this social networking site.

2. Add Your LinkedIn Profile Button To Your Email Signature:

There are different ways that you can add a LinkedIn Profile Button to your Gmail Signature. Once you learn to insert a HTML Signature in Gmail, then you can visit your LinkedIn profile to find out how you will be able to get an HTML code to insert the button that will take you to your LinkedIn profile. There are a number of types of banners and button types and models available, which will generate a HTML code for adding to your Gmail signature.

3. Create Your Company Profile:

Rather than creating a personal profile, if you are thinking of promoting your business, then is best to create your company profile in LinkedIn and have your employers and you as the owner of your business create their own personal profile. In your company profile, you will find all the information regarding your company details, about the interested parties and contacts and informations. In addition, you can provide more information and links to forms and services offered by your company, and job openings, if any. This way you can promote your business and reach more target potentials.

4. Quality Versus Quantity:

There is no use in having a long list of people in your LinkedIn profile connected, while many will prefer to be connected to a company profile that will have valuable, responsible and reasonable contacts. This is also good to ask who the person is and know something about a new contact or company before accepting the new connection. If not LinkedIn can hurt you, prevention is better than cure that you accept only known connections, or connection known to your known connections. This is how you will be able to build on your social networking and will fall as first level connection, second level connection and so on.

5. Use Your Profile ID In Business Cards:

Using your LinkedIn Profile ID on your business card will help you to self promote your business and also will increase and attract efficient networking and communicative employees towards your organization. The best way to put your LinkedIn id profile on your business cards is to use your profile address only and not your profile picture or title.

6. Customize Your Profile URL:

Your profile URL is the one that will attract more clients and customers, if they are easily noticeable. This is the first and the most important lesson in marketing is gaining attention. Therefore, the best way to be noticed and make your URL get noticed for someone to try to click is to keep him or her short and attractive. This has been proven highly successful mode of coming up in the Google index and is best when used as a shortened URL. This means that you will have better chances of getting higher ranks while doing a search using a competitive keyword. When you use a short URL, you will also find the option to view the full fledged URL, which will be the one to open when you click on this shortened URL.

7. Optimize Labels:

When you are creating labels for your profile ID for your LinkedIn Profile, the best way to get noticed while promoting your business is not to forget to add your ID to your website, blog and other relevant URLS and websites, where ever possible, and whenever you come across a place where you can add these labels. This will allow up to three labels as My Company, My Blog and My Portfolio. These are the places where the search engines send their crawlers while doing keyword targeted searches. This is only an additional way of adding extra additional promotional detail for the company by driving traffic a little more traffic than normal.

LinkedIn will be the choice of your social networking online portal for promoting your business with more number of client and customer contacts of very high quality.

  2. Hi Praveen

I joined Linkedin awhile back but wasn’t really sure how I would benefit from it so haven’t really been promoting my business there.

I will now rethink my marketing strategy now that I do have sourced products to promote. Thanks for sharing this informative post Praveen. Much appreciated.

    Praveen,

What have you seen with LinkedIn Direct Ads? I am testing a few ads for clients that received a $100 coupon code less the $5 one time credit charge.

    • Praveen Praveen Sivaraman says:

      Hi

You can try but i would not say it is better than FB coupons or adwords. if you are trying to promote/sales something related to work/professional things then you can see the fruit

hope to see you more at techperk

      Thanks
