Google to launch Cheaper Android Phones in the Asian Market like China and India

Android market has grown significantly in the past few months and there is no doubt that Android is growing as a big competitor for Apple. Google is working on Android 3.0 aka Ginger Bread for high end Android Handsets already. A recent report from Businessweek says that Google is working on a plan which will introduce cheap android handsets in the Asian Markets. India and China have very big Mobile Markets which will be targeted by Google.

Andy Rubin, VP of engineering at Google said “Revolution happens then and now, we need to make use of the down-market opportunity that is about to happen.”

iPhone is not that much popular in India and also some higher end Android handsets. Nokia is the most popular handset manufacturer in India and that is due to the variety of handsets at cheap price. Google also plans the same strategy by partnering with Hardware manufacturers like LG and Huawei.
