HP slate releases in June-Sources

HP Slate gets released in the Month of June says sources. So if you are not satisfied with Apple’s ipad you can wait for 2 more months to get a new better gadget from HP.

There is a webcam in HP’s tablet which is not in iPad and also it supports Adobe Flash Player. Users can view flash movies and flash enabled websites in HP’s tablet which is not possible in Apple iPad. It is expected that it will run all Windows 7 Applications and also memory can be extended using SD card slot. Definitely it is going to be a big contender for iPad once it is released.

Honestly any tablet (or computer for that matter) running a clunky Windows operating system is not going to function as well as an Apple-produced product. Good luck HP, but too little too late.

Yea you have told the correct point but HP has additional features which can attract people. Lets wait and see

It all depends on what people need… I am personally looking forward to HP Slate. For people with Windows Media Center HTPCs (and it serves as our DVR at my place), it will be a great media consumption device over wifi. I can't wait to access all my movies & recordings without having to go through file conversions and synching that you have to do with iPad… I got iPad at release and been enjoying web browsing & different games. I am sure HP Slate will not work as slick as iPad (surprise me HP!), but it will serve a different need for me in any case.

This is a honest review at the right time :) I heard more or less similar comment from three of my friends using iPad

I hope that HP will not let you down

          Thanks

If the iPad was supporting Flash Player and able to display any website, I would have gotten it already. I guess Apple want to maximize profit on future upgrades like the iPods … some people have many versions of iPods to keep up with new features. Their old versions either sit in a drawer or gifted to friends.
I must admit that the iPad is beautiful of course. It's a cool device to have and show off. I need an assistant that would allow me to leave my laptop at home during listing presentations. An iPad cannot do that yet. I hope the HP or any other fully functional tablet will be up to my standards.

          • Praveen Praveen Sivaraman says:

Yea you are absolutely made the point out here. Apple iPad stays behind many things except in its look and publicity lol. However HP is not the only Tablet which is on the queue as there are many companies itching their hands to release tablets. Those are like Dell, Nokia and even Cisco(check out later for a news on this)

Recent rumors now have the HP Slate on hold with HP's purchase of Palm. The device will be much more successful if they use webOS as an alernative to Windows. It may be a while before the device is released if these rumors are indeed true.

  2. Mark Mark says:

The iPad is a joke. It's a pop culture fad product that will fail in the long-run. At least the slate has funtionability.

    • Praveen Praveen Sivaraman says:

Yea as you say it has flash player, webcam and can run all Windows 7 applications as well

lets wait and watch the play

Both devices have distinct public. As a Real Estate Pro, I'll probably go with the HP because, it can actually replace a laptop. I only wish it was slimmer.

I agree. I'm also a real estate agent [in NJ] and make full us eof my convertible tablet with RED software and Adobe Annotator tohave clients sign contracts on my convertible. I would love to just carry a slate around to do the same thing. I can't do that with the iPad. My Windows 7 convertible syncs with everything I use (Microsoft Office Professional, my smart phone, printers, etc.) and also functions as my fax machine. I can't [yet] do that with an iPad. (Although I have to admit it looks nice).

So it seems more HP lovers here
Hello Hello..HP take a look at this page and come out with a great product lol

Apple's biggest mistake is rejecting Adobe Flash. Now it becomes one of HP Slate's biggest assets against iPad! No matter what negative comment Apple says about Flash including the rest of the fanbois who cry about crashing the Mac OS systems, Flash is a leading web content provider that are on many of the biggest internet websites. This includes Facebook's most popular Flash gaming apps (farmville), video content (hulu), video conferencing, audio, animation, application as well as movie previews and millions of web pages containing high-quality media web content.

HP Slate USB will give you access to virtually every USB accessory available to computers such as an external USB hard drive, external USB re-writable DVD Drive, external re-writable Blu-ray Drive, wireless keyboard and mouse, USB memory drives, printers, scanners, tablet pens, pointers, the options are almost endless!

Because Windows 7 is Windows-compatible, you could install and run MS Word and Excel. Adobe Photoshops, PowerPoint, Visio, your favorite Movie Editing program, Sound Studio editing program; there are millions of Windows compatible apps that there is no comparison to the very tiny difference available only to the iPad.

Do you chat a lot? Do you use YM? MSN, AOL? Then you'll enjoy being able to use the same chat programs on the HP Slate with a built in video conferencing camera! iPad can't do any of that!

With all of the advantages the HP Slate has over the iPad, I have no reason to keep my handicapped iPad and just return it so I can use my refund for the HP Slate!

    • Praveen Praveen Sivaraman says:

lol last setence was funny but that is the bitter truth
      very good share :)

      thanks a ton

Wait it runs Windows7 AND Flash?!!! Somebody pinch me!

  6. Eric Eric says:

I tried a Gateway Netbook a few months ago and couldnt run Hulu or YouTube(HD) full screen smoothly. I'm hoping the HP Slate has better performance.

  7. jobz jobz says:

Sadly, Windows 7 on an atom system fails.. unless it is optimized.. i bet you all that hp slate will fail to perform.. im not an ipad fanboy fyi..
