HTC EVO 4G is going to be launched officially next month which will be the first 4G phone. Now Verizon has announced that it will launch five 4G phones in 11 months time which means Verizon will launch all 5 in May 2011. Five 4G phones will be based on the Long Term Evolution Technology which is shortly called as LTE.
Lowell McAdam, CEO of Verizon announced all these in the recent press meet held. He also said that Verizon is preparing to meet the heat from Sprint and plans to cover nearly 100 Million people.(read after the image)
“I’d say all the major manufacturers we’re talking to today are making the transition to LTE,” said Lowell McAdam, Verizon’s CEO.
He also added a word about the manufacturers of the tablet devices. It is well known news that Verizon is getting ready for an Android based tablet but the manufacturers were not revealed. McAdam did that in the press meet. These high speed devices will be manufactured by Motorola, Samsung and LG.
“There’s no reason we couldn’t have an iPad,” McAdam said.
