India to join as an observer in the 30-Meter Telescope Project

India will be an observer in the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) which is going to be held in Hawaii. India joined in this project on Friday which will reveal the mysteries of Black hole, galaxies and planets.

This will be the world’s most advanced observatory so far and the status of India will be fully operational in the year 2018. Prithviraj Chavan, Minister of Science and Technology said that India will join the Hawaii project as observer in the year 2018.

T Ramasami, Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology said that “This is a proud for Indian government and people of India as this is a world class event”. He also said that “Thirty meter project Telescope will gain us an international leader in the technology department”.
