Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.5 Launched

Red hat revealed its new Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.5 (RHEL 5.5) which is expected to provide better interoperability to its users than the previous version. This new version has been provided with better features like better bug fixing option and it works will some other platforms like IBM, DELL, HP, AMD and Intel. It is also provides an enhanced support to Windows 7 which is definitely a great thing.

Other than these things there are also advancements like include improved user and group mapping which helps in easy user operations. File system management is simplified which helps in better use of the application.

“We believe that RHEL continues to drive the evolution of the operating platform forward with new technology that delivers performance, reliability, scalability and affordability results for our customers,” said Tim Burke, vice president of platform engineering at Red Hat.
