Samsung launches Champ and Omnia Lite Touch Phones

Samsung increased their touch screen ranges with two new additions being announced today, Samsung Champ and Omnia Lite.

While launching these two phones, Ranjit Yadav, Director for Samsung mobile and IT, India, stated that Samsung Champ is for youngsters looking for music and active online social life in their phones, while Omnia Lite is for consumers who would like to have multimedia entertainment as well as business features on their phones. Bothe of these is touch screen and thus, making the portfolio of Samsung Touch Screen ranges to 23 models with a multiple price points.

Samsung Champ or C3303 is designed to function with a 3.5 mm ear jack and dual speakers, wireless FM, 30 MB internal memory expandable to 8 GB, 2.4” QVGA touch screen, 3-page extended menu, Touchwiz Lite 2.0, VGA camera and image editor, and an advanced mobile tracker. In addition, the home screen can go up to seven pages and has access to widgets and applications, with ability to upload photos in various sites like Facebook, MySpace, Photobucket, Flickr, Friendster, Picassa and Twitter.

Samsung Omnia Lite on the other hand is based on Windows mobile 6.5 pro edge platform with users to view and edit MS Excel, power point slides, view PDF files, use MS exchange server push email and IBM Lotus Note Traveler that supports automatic email. This also comes with 3G connectivity, 3MP camera, and has DiVx and Xivd that provides a whole range of access to powerful multimedia features with no necessity to convert files for video player and 250 MB internal memory expandable to another 32 GB.
