You can root your Xperia X10 to 2.1 or 2.1 but do it only if you know it fully.

well Advantages are like you get new OS with loads of software support. I dont think there is any disadvantage unless you root it correctly.

hi praveen…i also have xperia x10…my problem is not about rooting it but its about i recently updated it to 2.1….i followed all the steps as told even watched the video relating its installation but still when i finally switch on my phone though it takes a bit longer time for the first time when it finally turns on its still the same old 1.6….please advise
