Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Rooted

While Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10 has been out in the market for some time facing the tough competition in the technological market, has been one of the few successful mobiles that have been successfully ripped off their softwares.

The next step this mobile will be facing is rooting by xda-developers. For super user abilities using this phone, user Bin4ry have posted methodological instructions as of how to locate you device ID and re-flash your phone.

Even though things are straight these days, things may go topsy turvy over the next week. You will never know what is going to happen!

hi Praveen,

i have a xperia x10 i which i bought in india .

If i root it will my Sony Ericsson warranty for my phone expire ?

what are the pros and cons of rooting the phone ?

  You can root your Xperia X10 to 2.1 or 2.1 but do it only if you know it fully.

can u pls explain in detail what advantages and disadvantages will i gain in rooting xperia x10 ?

and from where can i get android 2.1 version and how to install it on xperia x10 i ?

  well Advantages are like you get new OS with loads of software support. I dont think there is any disadvantage unless you root it correctly.

hi praveen…i also have xperia x10…my problem is not about rooting it but its about i recently updated it to 2.1….i followed all the steps as told even watched the video relating its installation but still when i finally switch on my phone though it takes a bit longer time for the first time when it finally turns on its still the same old 1.6….please advise
