Verizon HTC Droid Eris 2.1 gets Android 2.1 Update

It was rumored earlier that Verizon HTC Droid Eris 2.1 will get Android 2.1 update next month but the whole story turned the other way broadcasting that the release might be in this week. As it broadcasted the most awaited update came in Droid Eris 2.1 phones.

There have been a number of enhancements in the new update which includes bug fix, functionality improvement and much more. A popup has been seen in all the mobiles asking them to update to the latest version but some of them did not receive it. Users who never got the message can update by replicating the following path in their mobile,

Settings > About Phone > System Update

Verizon HTC Droid Eris 2.1 Features

New voice-to-text feature has been added in the latest update. Google maps and calendar is being enhanced as well. The most noticeable thing is the support of Free Yahoo Mail. Bluetooth has been added as an additional feature which is accompanied by the enhancement of long battery hours.
