To compete with Intel AMD is going to hit the market with its new eight and 12 core Opteron 6100 Series processors. If this processor is released then this will become the fastest processor available in the market. This was officially announced by the director product marketing and server/workstation products, AMD Mr. John Fruehe. He also made a point that this may be available by the end of this quarter.
