Windows Phone 7 is being loved by the people who are using them.We very well know that as soon as a OS surfaces, with likes of iOS, Android etc, jailbreaking is the most common issue coveted by Phone users. This is what GM of Customer experience engineering, Hautala, had to say:

“As an engineer and a lover, I totally understand the impulse to tinker. You want the latest technology and you’re tired of waiting. Believe me, I get it. But my strong advice is: wait.”

Do not jailbreak windows phone 7

Now this looks far more polite than what Steve Jobs says but let us analyze why you should refrain from Jailbreaking Windows Phone 7:

1. It’s Newer – So Be Safe!:

Windows Phone 7 is yet to recognized in a credible and reliable way that it is jailbreakable and will function safely once the same is done to the phone’s OS. Seriously, there is no breaking the ice in this context, you could possibly damage your Phone baseband and core ROM in the process if it doesn’t go well with the phone 7 OS.

2. No Experienced Jailbreakers:

iOS and Android have got a whole lot of jailbreakers who are dedicatedly doing stuff concerning jailbreak for both the OS. What lacks in Windows Phone 7 is that there aren’t too many jailbreakers who can and who would help you in case of any critical problem, as Microsoft will pull hands to give you service, once you have jailbroken your set.

3. No Official Help if Warranty Voids:

Jailbreak as we all know voids the warranty, so if you’re buying a Windows Phone 7 and jailbreak it, you are probably making a relief to Microsoft for giving you any liability or service in context of Warranty. In case of any hap-hazard issue you might turn up in no man’s land and put your phone idle into the drawer.

4. No ‘Copy & Paste’ Feature:

Copy & Paste feature is one of the most awaited features of Windows Phone 7 lovers. This feature is already being enjoyed by iOS and Android users. But Microsoft, in press release has clearly mentioned the fact that the users, who are willing to jailbreak their Windows Phone 7, won’t be able to enjoy the copy and paste feature in future updates. No official update will be supported for the jailbroken devices.

5. You Won’t Get Future Support:

If you go for jailbreaking, you won’t be able to call the tech support for any problem you get with your Windows Phone 7 device since unofficial updates are not supported by Microsoft. They say “You might not be getting the important device-specific software we would typically deliver in the official update. Or your phone might get misconfigured and not receive future updates. It’s even possible your phone might stop working properly.”

So what I would advise you is wait and go with the flow of the tide. Since it’s officially urged to wait, then there must be something very exciting coming in the future updates.
